About the Moderator

Ron Charles is the longtime book critic and deputy editor of Book World at The Washington Post, where he reviews fiction and authors a weekly newsletter, “The Book Club”. Before joining the Post in 2005, he taught English and edited the book section of The Christian Science Monitor. Charles and his wife Dawn create the Totally Hip Video Book Review”, a satirical but thoughtful commentary on book‑review culture and publishing hype.
