Jessica B. Harris

Jessica Harris is the author of seventeen books including the award-winning High on the Hog, which inspired the hit Netflix series of the same name. A professor emerita at Queens College/CUNY, Harris has contributed to both scholarly and popular publications and served as culinary consultant for the Smithsonian’s African American Museum. Her latest bestseller, Braided Heritage, explores the rich fusion of Indigenous, European, and African food traditions.
