About the Moderator
Ligaya Mishan
Ligaya Mishan became a chief restaurant critic for The New York Times in 2025, based in New York City. She started reviewing restaurants in 2007, first for The New Yorker and then for The Times, where from 2012 to 2020 she wrote the weekly Hungry City column, devoted to New York’s tiny, often immigrant-run neighborhood spots. She studied English literature at Princeton, and earned a master of fine arts degree in poetry at Cornell. She lives in New York City and Chilmark, MA.
