About the Moderator
Patricia Sullivan
Patricia Sullivan is the William Arthur Fairey II Professor of History at the University of South Carolina. Her scholarship focuses on United States history, with an emphasis on the African American experience, politics, race relations, and the history of the Civil Rights Movement. She is the author of several books on the African American experience, civil rights/Black freedom struggles, and American political culture. Her most recent book is Justice Rising: Robert Kennedy’s America in Black and White. explores Robert Kennedy’s public life in relation to the civil rights movement and racial turmoil of the 1960s. She is a member of the MVBF Board.
