Jordan Thomas is an anthropologist, former Los Padres Hotshot wildland firefighter, and author of When It All Burns: Fighting Fire in a Transformed World. This firsthand account of battling California’s most catastrophic fire season reveals the toll of firefighting while exploring the cultural history of megafires and humanity’s escalating war with wildfire.
