Jordan Thomas
Jordan Thomas is an anthropologist, former Los Padres Hotshot wildland firefighter, and author of When It All Burns: Fighting Fire in a Transformed World. This firsthand account of battling California’s most catastrophic fire season reveals the toll of firefighting while exploring the cultural history of megafires and humanity’s escalating war with wildfire. A current Chancellor’s Fellow at UC Santa Barbara with graduate degrees from Cambridge and Durham, Thomas writes for outlets like the Los Angeles Times and The Seattle Times.
