Are Author Series sponsorships tax deductible?
The monetary value of sponsorship benefits varies based on the benefits you received. Accordingly, please consult with your tax advisor on the portion of your sponsorship that is tax deductible. Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. EIN 33-2430477. All financial contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
How much of the sponsorship should be considered tax deductible?
It varies based on the sponsorship package and whether you used/received all or some of the benefits associated with your sponsorship level. In 2026, a good estimate for the Folio level would be that $1600 of the sponsorship price should be tax deductible. The remaining $400 reflects the fair market value of benefits received. At the Edition level, we estimate $3000 would be tax deductible. The remaining $500 reflects the fair market value of benefits received. Please consult your tax advisor.
Can I deduct the full amount of the sponsorship if I choose not to receive the benefits of sponsorship?
Yes. Please let us know your preferences related to sponsorship benefits. Email info@mvbookfestival.com.
Can I send my donation via check? Yes
Donations by check should be made payable to the Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival, Inc.
Mail checks to: MV Book Festival, PO Box 484, Chilmark MA 02535. Include the name(s) of the sponsors and your email address and phone number with the check.
